I have been absent for a couple months due to a plethora of issues. My husband and I are currently remodeling our home – just the two of us. It has been quite an adventure. We are first time homebuyers and bought a project home. Also I have been quite busy at work ( As much as I wish I could dedicate my full time to occult studies I work a normal 8-5 job). Then of course there is the money issues with remodeling, and my husband also just bought a truck which was ill-advisable and has already has several issues resulting in more money out the door.
With everything going on I’ve been drawn to the Wheel of Fortune lately. I keep reminding myself to be like the sphinx. Be in this world as an active participant but do not be of this world. This is a lot harder to tell myself than actually follow through with it. It becomes to easy to get sucked into the daily grind. Some days I feel like I’m just trying to get by and keep it all together.
The core teaching at the Wheel of Fortune is time. Everything flows in a cycle, a wheel if you will. We all have highs and lows. We know such things are unchanging, but we can change how we react to each situation.
Typically if we look at the card in the Rider Waite tradition it’s filled with symbolism.Really this post could be a long one so I won’t go into all the details but a few little keywords to get you started are Tetragrammation (notice how the hebrew letters spell the unknowable name of god), You have all of the alchemical symbols representing the synchronization of the forces of life, the letters spelling T.A.R.O. which can be read as taro for tarot or tora for truth or even rota for wheel.
You can’t stop time. We kinda just have to go with the flow and learn to adapt to our situations. This is extremely hard to do. I think people have a natural tendency to want be in control of everything. We don’t like to feel like we have no control over the universe. To a certain extent we don’t. The one thing that we do have 100% control over is how we react. This is how we can get the advantage. That and a little bit of magic(k) to get us by.
